I grew up in a pastor’s home my entire childhood. We lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana with the majority of my memories in Montana. I fell in love with drama while in high school and performed in Speech and Drama, plays, and even formed a youth drama ministry team. This carried over to college and I graduated from Trinity Bible College in 2002 with a Bible/Ministerial Major and Drama minor. While at TBC I traveled with drama ministry teams for two years and coached local teens to the national level of Fine Arts.
After graduating from Trinity I continued working in Ellendale and serving the church there in various ways eventually serving as Interim Youth Pastor. I also had the opportunity to direct the Ellendale High School plays for five seasons. It was a great opportunity to grow a relationship with the high school administration and staff. Three years after graduating we moved to Red Lodge to volunteer as Youth Pastor for a struggling church. I worked in construction full time, building custom log homes to support our family while we lived there.
In September of 2006 we moved to Glendive to serve as Youth/Children Pastor. We ministered at the Glendive Assembly of God for almost eight years. In the last year I also served as Youth Pastor at the Evangelical Church in Glendive, ministering to their junior highers on Wednesday afternoon.
Carolina grew up in Ellendale, ND and the surrounding area. She and her four siblings grew up with their mom. Family has always been very important to Carolina and is her primary ministry at this time of her life. We met during our freshman year at TBC and began dating in the spring semester. We were engaged in the spring of 1999 and married in October of 1999. She has dedicated her life to raising our children and ministering to others as she is able.
Carolina loves to serve behind the scenes and make sure people’s needs are being met. Although she has had a few opportunities to share in small groups, she prefers to not be front of people. Her winsome personality is found in one on one conversations and working alongside others. She loves ministering to children and has spent many years doing just that wherever we have lived. A large part of that ministry is to our own kids as we homeschool our five children with Carolina carrying the load of teaching. It is challenging and a very rewarding experience for our entire family.
My wife and I have 5 children. Jacob is 17 and loves soccer, videography, and video games. Benjamin, who we call Benji, is 15 and loves baseball, football, soccer, and anything that has a screen. Levi is 12 and loves to play any sport or Legos and plays just about everything his older brothers do. Makayla is 10 with a passion for writing, playing with dolls and Legos, and dressing up. Hallie is 7 and a spitfire full of energy and attitude. She “thinks” she runs the house but usually ends up on Mama or Daddy’s lap cuddling.
